Don’t Wait for Perfection—Start Now with God’s Help
Have you ever caught yourself waiting for the "perfect" moment to start something new? Whether it’s pursuing a dream, a calling, or even a small step toward self-improvement, it’s easy to get stuck in the trap of thinking things need to line up just right before we move forward.
But here's the truth: life will never be perfect. Sorry, had to bring some reality in 😊
In fact, waiting for everything to be in order can often become an excuse that holds us back from the greatness God has placed within us. The power of choice is in your hands—right now.
Choose to Start, Even When It’s Not Perfect 🌱
Imagine standing on the edge of a diving board, ready to leap into a pool. You're waiting for the water to be perfectly calm, for the weather to be exactly right, or for someone to come alongside and push you in. But that moment never comes. Similarly, in life, waiting for the “ideal conditions” might mean never making the jump at all.
Ecclesiastes 11:4 reminds us, “Whoever watches the wind will not plant; whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.” The truth is the world won’t pause to line up all the stars for your big moment. But that’s okay—because you don’t need perfection to make a move.
The Power of Choice. 🎯
There is power in that statement alone. Go ahead, say it again and again but this way…….. “the power of choice is mine.”…….again……and again…… “the power of choice is mine”.
God has given you a powerful gift—the ability to choose. Every single day, you have the choice to start something new, to make a change, or to take a step forward, even if things aren’t perfectly aligned. We can choose to act instead of sitting idle, letting fear or indecision rob us of our potential.
The act of making a choice is often more important than the conditions under which it’s made. When you choose to step out in faith, even in the midst of uncertainty or imperfection, you activate something far greater than your own abilities—you activate God’s help.
God Meets Us in Our Steps of Faith 🙏
When we make the decision to move forward, even when everything isn’t perfect, God steps in. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” God doesn’t expect us to have everything figured out or to wait until we feel 100% ready. He simply asks us to trust Him and take the first step.
In fact, some of the most significant moments in the Bible happened when people made a choice to act despite the obstacles around them. David didn’t wait until he was older or stronger to face Goliath. Moses didn’t wait for a clear path before leading the Israelites out of Egypt. These individuals made the choice to trust God and act, knowing He would meet them where they were.
You Don’t Need Anyone Else’s Permission.
Another trap we fall into is waiting for someone else's validation before we act. We think we need approval, support, or a push from others to begin. But the reality is that no one can live your life for you. No one else is responsible for making your dreams happen.
God has already equipped you with everything you need to begin. When you choose to lean on Him instead of waiting for the opinions of others, you’ll find strength and courage to press forward, no matter the situation.
Take the First Step Today
What’s been on your heart that you’ve been waiting to start? Is it a new project? A ministry? Or maybe just a personal goal? Whatever it is, don’t wait for perfection. Start today. Make the choice to trust God with the process, knowing that He will guide you, strengthen you, and provide what you need along the way.
Remember, the power to move forward is in your hands. You don’t need perfect conditions, the perfect plan, or the approval of others. You just need to make the choice—and God will help you with the rest.
You are ready.
Choose to take action.
Watch how God shows up in your journey.
You got this.
Until next time,
